TRS213 application questions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRS213

customer would like to confirm the TRS213 behavior in abnormal application scenario below:

1) Does Rout support default state(or keep the previous state) if  TRS213 working abnormal?

2) will the TRS213 burn(or crash) if  Dout nodes short in some abnormal case?

  • Peter,

    1) ROUT will follow RIN (inverted) while the device is operating normally. If not normal (broken), ROUT may not be correct.
    2) DOUT short to ground is allowed in the absolute maximum ratings table. This ability is a standard feature for RS-232 drivers.

DOUT shorts could affect signal quality of the other DOUT channels while the short is present, however the ROUT pins will work normally.
