TPS2149 in non-USB Application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2149

I'm designing in a TPS2149 but I don't plan on using it in the typical USB application. I'm going to use the switch to detect over current situations. The 3.3V LDO output will power a MCU that will monitor the OC pin and when a fault is detected it will disable the switch. I don't see a problem using the part like this but I thought it would be good to ask in case I might have missed a better part. The devices being attached will consume less than 200mA peak in a normal connect mode so I'd actually prefer to limit the current lower than the TPS2149 does. I'm not too concerned since I think we can react to the OC pin quickly and shut things down.

My 2nd question is we won't need the 2nd switch. Is it OK to leave it floating or should it have some capacitor on it anyway?

Thanks,

George
