DS15BA101 : Input open condtion

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS15BA101

Dear Support team,

I have some question regarding DS15BA101.

When "IN+" and "IN-" are opened, we found the phenomenon what the OUT+ and OUT- have the vibration by itself.

“IN+” and “IN-“ are connected with 100ohm termination resistance in that case.

Do you have any advice for avoiding the output vibration?

The input open condition is required by the system reason.

Best regards,

Hiro Takahashi

  • Hiro,

The IN+ and IN- on the DS15BA101 expect to receive a continuous signal.  Without an input signal, the output state is undetermined and will likely oscillate or change state in a random manner.

You could try to add a 10K pull-up on IN+ and a 10K pull-down on IN-.  This should produce ~ 15mV across a 100 ohm input termination.  Depending on the amount of coupled noise on these signals, it could be enough offset to stop the output transitions.

It will take some time for any AC coupling on the output side to re-stabilize after a long period without any input signal.

    Regards,

    Lee
