Hi Team,

One quick question here, customer is evaluate the TUSB8041 and want to know if the USB_VBUS terminal need to have 5V power always or this USB_VBUS terminal can be left floating and without VBUS connection? Please advise. Thanks.

Hello,
It can't be left floating, it is used to detect a USB connection, you have to connect this terminal to VBUS through the voltage divider specified in the datasheet.
If the upstream VBUS is going to be always on, then you can connect this terminal to 5V using the voltage divider specified in the datasheet.
