about TPD12S521 DDC_DAT_OUT and DDC_CLK_OUT pull up voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD12S521

hi dear supporting team,

for TPD12S521, from the d/s, the DDC_DAT_OUT and DDC_CLK_OUT is pull up to 5V voltage, could they connect it to 5V_out as other vendors do?  tks!

Thanks for your interest in the TPD12S521. What we recommend is to pull up the DDC_DAT_OUT and DDC_CLK_OUT to the 5V_Supply pin rather than the 5V out pin. By doing this, it makes sure that any fault condition on the connecter side 5V pin will not harm your I2C communications as well, because your supply is behind the protection chip. Additionally, if you have a power plane at 5V this should be a relatively easy layout to route (the layout in the datasheet might be of help there, if you are asking this to simplify layout!

Please let me know if you have any additional questions, and thank you!

    Thanks,

    Alec
