LMH0031: 10bit and 20bit

Hi,

LMH0031 has 10bit or 20bit parallel video output/luma chroma output. how I can interface this with TMS320DM8168? because I am seeing 8bit/16bit capture?

Do I have to do 10b/8b decoding?

Please provide any parts to achieve HD-SDI--> Video processor to do de-interlace and H.264 compression.

LMH0031 is a deserializer. It gets the high speed data and then it deserializes the data into 10 or 20 bits. Normally on the serializer side the un-used bits - LSBs - for 8 or 16 bits mode are forced to zero. Then on the LMH0031 side the processor ignores these LSBs. So it all depends on the TX side.

do we have any control over it to force to zero on additional 2bits/4bits are unused bits in Deserializer output DV[9:0]/DV[19:0]?

Hi Siva,

Deserializer does not have any control over this. Some video specification specifically assume or call for these two or four bits to be ignored. So DSP attached to the output of the LMH0031 can ignore these bits automatically.
