SN65HVD231: VREF pin connection

Hi,

 my customer did a circuit that is already in production and by mistake he connected VREF pin(5)  to VCC(3.3V), instead of leaving floating, because it is not used.

Can this  situation be potentially leading to internal  failures or reliability problems?

Up to now, no problems were reported.

    Umberto,

    Vref is a buffered output with voltage level of Vcc/2. So it won't mess up with internal circuitry even the pin is shorted to Vcc. It won't have reliability issue as well. Please let me know if you have further question.
