TUSB1210 Vdd18 function

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1210

Dear All

I have aquestion about the Vdd18 function on the TUSB1210.

I would like to confirm Vdd18 pin is input or output or can be configured eather.
The reference I could found is TUSB1210 data sheet SLLSE09A.

At p.9, Vdd18 is described as input.

At p.14, section 5.1.2, it is described that the pin should be powered externally and there is no spec of LDO unlike Vdd33 and Vdd15 has.
So I would like to understand that pin is input.

But at p. 26, Table 7-1., we can see the letters "Int 1.8V LDO" and "Ext 1.8V supply".
By reading this table, the device seems to have internal LDO in it.

Some information is wrong?
Or my understanding is wrong?

Please help me to understand this device.

Best Regards,
Rhino

  • Rhino,

TUSB1210 supports only external VDD18 supply, with external decoupling cap of 100nF.

Reference to "Int 1.8V LDO" have been removed from External Components Table 7-1.

The TUSB1210 datasheet was updated with this change and should be visible later this week on the web.

Sorry for the confusion this may have caused.

    Best regards,

    Peter
