TUSB320HI: Difference from TUSN320HAI

Part Number: TUSB320HI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320HAI,

Dear, Sir.

Initially, my customer was planning to apply TUSB320HAI, so they put an order to obtain it.

Unfortunately, wrong part TUSB320HI was delivered.

They are considering to reuse TUSB320HI instead of TUSB320HAI.

I tried to check both datasheet, etc.

1. Is there any remarkable difference between HI & HAI?

   (I found only "REVISION" difference)

2. IP Generation is differnt (HI = 2nd, HAI = 3rd).

Is there any impact on the function & performance due to such difference?

Sorry to disturb your job regading this kind of matter, but hoping to get

your advice, at this time.

Best Regards,

H. Sakai

  • Hi Sakai,

The TUSB320HI is the second generation while the TUSB320HIA is the third generation of this device. The differences between both versions are:

    Shutdown Current            0.46uA           0.37uA

    UFP Active Current          100uA           70uA

    UFO Unattached Current 100uA           70uA

    Debug Accesory ECR       No                 Yes

    ID pin failsafe                    No                 Yes

    Best Regards,

  • Dear, Luis-san.

Thank you for your valuable information.

    1. BTW, What is the meaning of "ECR"?

    2. I wonder actual max  I2C clock speed is 400kHz for both?

Sorry to ask again regarding this kind of matter.

    Best Regards,

    H. Sakai

  • Hello SAkai-san.

ECR stands for ENABLE CONTROL REGISTER (there is a register that enables/disables the support for debug-accessories in UFP mode - This support is always enabled on the TUSB320HI ).

Both devices support 400KHz I2C clock.

    DIego.
