Hello,

One of my customer ask me the following:

The component has reverse voltage protection and when it is turned on (Vou> vin), FAULT goes down and the switch goes to OFF (before it was ON) it is clear to me from the specifications.

My case is different from what happens when the switch is already in OFF mode (EN pin at 0) and I give the reverse voltage Is either FAULT then going to 0 or not.

Because in my understanding this is a normal case? This situation is not described in the specification (or I did not find it) can you check?

Can you please advise the above question, I will really appreciate it.

Hi Shai,

When En is low the device is not active, the internal power mosfet is off so the current can't come form Vout to Vin. So fault will never alsert at this situation.

Hello Michael,

I have another question, the component is activated when EN = 1 but I noticed that the illustrations are the reverse, I wanted to verify with you that this is a mistake in the graphs and not in the settings (see page 7).

Hi BerMan,
When EN is high, device is active . When Vout > Vin current will through from vout to vin . If Vout>Vin=135mV and this situation longer than 4mS the Fault pin will assert .

Hello Michael

I need your assistance again, the customer working with TPS2553-q1 and have a strange case please see how he describe it to me.

Initial state - the output of a component already has a voltage of 5V + (from another source), and the component does not receive voltage, ie Vin = EN = 0
Next mode - there is + 5V in the output but this time Vin = EN = + 5V

Question: Will a component switch to ON or not?
if the output voltage would prevent the component to switch ON/OFF and what the effect of this case ?

Hi,

TPS2553 will turn on when VIN=EN=5V ignoring the output voltage.
