Hello,

Designing a MAC core using Altera IP core connected to DP83620 TI PHY,

I encountered the need of programming registers inside DP83620 TI PHY that influence the connection between the two devices.

The configuration I aim is MII 10/100/1000BASE-T.

Can we meet to get a brief tutorial for programming DP83620 TI PHY or alternatively

Can you recommend on an expert engineer that can consult me how to deal with this kind of protocol.

Hello Hen,

DP83620 is a 10/100 device so it cannot be used for 1000Base-T applications. We have DP83867 family of gigabit devices which can work at 10M/100M/1000M speeds.
Is MII the only configuration that you want to program? If you want to use DP83620 in MII mode, then you can do so with bootstrap resistors. This way you do not have to use software. MII mode can be enabled by connecting 2.2kohm pull down resistor on RX_DV pin (pin 39) of DP83620.
