SN65LVCP114: SDI - HDMI switch

Part Number: SN65LVCP114
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0324

I am looking for a switch component that can output either an HDMI 2.0 input or a 3G-SDI input.  For the HDMI 2.0 case, only the TMDS lines would pass through the switch.  I found SN65LVCP114 and think it might work, but am not sure since I do not have much experience with 3G-SDI.  Can someone please advise on this or alternative solutions?

Thanks,

Jason

  • Hi Jason,

The SN65LVCP114 inputs and outputs are biased to a common mode of VDD-0.3V.  This voltage is inline with TMDS termination levels, at least in the older HDMI specifications.

Can you be more specific about the 3G-SDI input?  In many cases SDI signals are single-ended and/or AC coupled.  In general our high speed repeaters and muxes would be compatible with any AC coupled differential signal.

    Regards,

    Lee

  • The 3G-SDI input would first go into an equalizer such as LMH0324, and then into the mux.
