    The design guide helps to explain what role the MCU plays in this tida. (www.ti.com/.../tidubx1b.pdf)

    The Piccolo MCU is used in this tida for PWM1-6 as well as Protection Against DC Bus Undervoltage, Overvoltage, Overload, Ground Fault, and Over-Temperature all via pin connections from the MCU. This can be seen at the bottom of: Figure 2. System Level Block Diagram for TIDA-00366. Table 6. C2000 LaunchPad Pinout can be used to connect the gpio, pwm, and power and gnd to the tida board 20pin header.

    The signals from the MCU are the PWM and TRIP. The signals from the tida board to the MCU are DC Bus Undervoltage, Overvoltage, Overload, Ground Fault, and Over-Temperature. The overload protection can be implemented in external hardware, which reduces software complexity. Other ADC readings like, under- and overvoltage are programmed in the MCU using the sensed signal. Similarly, the signal from NTC (integrated into IGBT module) is sensed using the AMC1301, and the sensed signal is fed to the MCU for over-temperature protection.

    Is the software you are refering to help to connect the MCU or help to implement these protection features once the signal to the MCU goes high? which protection signal from the MCU are you concerned about most?

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    I am actually making the same test board as TIDA-00366.
    Therefore, in order to easily verify it, the software for C2000 Piccolo LaunchPad is required.
    Could you please share it with me since it is hard work to make software from scratch ?

    Hello Sadanori-san,

    The board was test with the TMS320F28027F launchpad. We are not releasing the test software at this time as we do not have the required documentation.

    An alternative would be to use the examples from ControlSuite (Link). Once installed you will find many different motor control examples with documentation. I recommend to start with the high voltage motor control kit's example. You can choose the motor type accordingly. All the software examples have build levels, where the BUILDLEVEL1 can be used for hardware testing.

    You will need to port and recompile the software for the TMS320F28027F launchpad, then add the startup sequence as explained in the design guide of TIDA-00366.
