DS90UB913A-Q1: AC Coupling Capacitor Rating

Hello Team,

On DS90UB913A-Q1 EVM, the AC coupling cap rating at Dout+ is 100V.

And for Dout-, a path through 0.047uF and 50-ohm terminated uses 50V rating for the 0.047uF.

May I know if using 25V rating X7R capacitor is sufficient for DS90UB913A-Q1 used in automotive camera application?

Are there concerns using 100V and 50V rating ac coupling capacitor?

Hi,

It depends on your application.

The 2 main things to consider are: (1) power over coax voltage and (2) voltage transients on power over coax.

A 100nF capacitor is not always 100nF depending on the voltage applied to the capacitor. The more voltage applied the lower the effective capacitance is.

It is important to look at your application and the capacitor DC bias curve to make sure there are no adverse effects from the FPD-Link transmitter voltage.
