TFP410: Pin-Strapping Mode and Termination

Part Number: TFP410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP0040, TIDEP0038

Dear Team,

our customer considers the TFP410 as replacement for the SiI1178.

However two questions:

  1. The customer would like to use the device in pin strapping mode (ISEL/RST GND). Will this implementation come with any restrictions on the other configuration pins (like BSEL, DSEL,…).
    > The customer would like to change those configurations on the fly - will this still be possible?

  2. The current SiI1178 design foresees source termination of a 300ohm resistor and a 0.1uF capacitor between the + and – lines of each differential pair (see page 28 of the SiI 1178 datasheet). I could not find any indication that the TFP410 needs a termination or that it has the termination integrated. A quick check in the TIDEP0038 and TIDEP0040 showed that the schematics did not have any (external) termination.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Best Regards
Martin
