SN65HVD1785: how long it will survive under the fault voltage?

It's a question we might not have definite answer. Like the data sheet says, "Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability". But it's hard to quantify how long the extended periods are. Basically the results only have statistical meaning. The longer the devices are exposed to such condition, the higher possibility some of them got damaged. But when it comes down to each individual device, the variation exists. Do you know the time period your customer has in mind? I'll see if I can get some data about it.
