TPS2041B: UL certification on protection current on TPS2041B

Hi team,

TPS2041B is a single port 0.5A USB current limit switch with typical current limit of 1A and max current of 1.3A  (in datasheet). However, in our UL certification list, it shows the protection current of 5A.

How the 5A being used in the certifications? Or is this refer to the total current for the 4 ports version (TPS2044?)

    Hi, Sai loo,

    You are correct. All those below parts share same UL report and the test module is TPS2044B, so the protection current is 5A. What's your concern about it?

    TPS2041, TPS2042, TPS2043, TPS2044, TPS2045, TPS2046,
    TPS2047, TPS2048, TPS2051, TPS2052, TPS2053, TPS2054,
    TPS2055, TPS2056, TPS2057, and TPS2058, followed by suffix “A” or “B”
