TPD6F003: Frequency Response

Part Number: TPD6F003

Hello,

TPD6F003's frequency response is shown below. From datasheet I know that the bandwidth is 200MHz.

1. Why the insert loss is -6dB from beginning? Is is due to load?

2. Can I achieve 90% amplitude at 100MHz?

3. If I connect two boards, each have one TPD6F003, what bandwidth will be? What amplitude will be at 100MHz?

Thanks.

  • Hello,
The DC loss is because there is a 100 Ohm resistor in the TPD6F003.
No I do not believe you will be able to achieve 90% amplitude at 100MHz for this device.
The last question is highly dependent on the board itself. Especially if you connect two boards together you are introducing more parasitics on the signal lines that will cause the insertion loss to be higher than just the loss of the device itself.
