DS90UB953-Q1: ESD diode at the output of an FPD serializer

You can use ESD diode at the output of the 953. This will degrade the RF signal slightly hence you need to choose the ESD diode properly with low capacitance.
Also your PCB design needs to be good enough with good channel parameters values (Return loss and insertion loss)
