TUSB1106-Q1: USB data transfer using the TUSB1106-Q1

Part Number: TUSB1106-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1294, , TUSB1106

Hi,

I'm completely new to USB interfacing, so excuse me if this is a simple question, any guidance will be appreciated.

So, I have a circuit that digitizes data using an ADS1294. Next step is to try and send this data from the portable device to the PC for further analysis. For this I've been reading the datasheet of the TSUB1106-Q1, but I have some questions about the application circuit of this IC. Basically, since I don't have a 3.3V source in the main circuit, I'd use the USB port VCC to power up this chip, as shown in the datasheet's figure 10:

But reading at the pin descriptions, I wonder if some kind of controller is really needed to drive this IC, or can I connect the inputs pins (such as SPEED, nOE, etc) to ground or VCC in order to drive them, since I don't need the portable device to receive any data. An extra question: which pins would need to be used as inputs to the TUSB1106-Q1 to receive the digitized data? I only see the VMO and VPO pins as data inputs, but the description says "driver data", so I'm confused whether I should connect the ADS1294 output data to this pins.

Thanks in advance for any help provided,

Roberto
