SN65MLVD040: comparison SN65MLVD040 and DS91M040

Part Number: SN65MLVD040
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS91M040,

Hello team,

I'm trying to understand the differences between the SN65MLVD040 and the DS91M040. Could you please help me out to clarify any difference?

I see they have the same pricing, basically the same electrical characteristics but maybe the DS91M040 allows for longer stubs due to its lower Tr/Tf, they have different packages although most of the competition uses the 48 pin.

Could you tell me any other difference? From an availability point of view, which one will have a longer lifetime on the market?

Thank you and best regards,

Adrian

  • Hello,

The 2 devices have the same functionality, with different packages. There several minor differences in parameter values; please check the datasheet for any differences in parameters of interest to you. The reason we have 2 of these devices is that one came from National Semiconductor before it merged with TI. regarding long term availability, there is no plan to obsolete either of them at this time.

    Regards,
