SN65LVDS302: 3-channel Mode

Hi,

Can SN65LVDS302 transmit 16-bit data of YCbCr if using the data lanes of D0 and D1(D2 is not be used) with 3-channel mode which is mentioned on page 29 of SN65LVDS302 data sheet ?
Could you please tell me how to handle the unused pins if the above method can be used ?

Hi Kato-san,

It should be okay as long as the YCbCr data is within specification of the datasheet parameters. It doesn't look like the LVDS302 does much with the data except deserialize it. Any unused LVDS inputs can be left open.

Is there a particular reason you want to use the SN65LVDS302 rather than other simpler deserializers like the DS90CF364A?

Our customer has experience using SN65LVDS302 and feels the benefit of small package.
