SN65HVD102: SN65HVD102 IO-Link certification document

Part Number: SN65HVD102
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EXP430FR4133, SN65HVD101

Hi team,

our customer is using SN65HVD102 for IO-Link PHY and plan test IO-Link certification. feedback from customer that they need provide TI reference design to show physical layer test is comparable, may I know which reference design document and test report we need provide for customer self-declaration?

Thanks & Regards

  • Hi Eddie,

The IO-Link Sensor Transmitter Booster Pack is an active TI Design (TIDA-00339) that uses the SN65HVD102 for the IO-Link PHY.  The design uses a fully validated IO-Link stack from TMG loaded in the MSP-EXP430FR4133 LaunchPad for validation test results and example firmware as described in the design guide.

There are three other TI Designs that use the SN65HVD101 for the IO-Link PHY which differs from the SN65HVD102 only in the fact it has an integrated 3.3V or 5V LDO and the SN65HVD102 does not have the integrated LDO and must be supplied with either 3.3V or 5V from an external source.  But from an IO-Link perspective, the performance between the SN65HVD101 and SN65HVD102 should be considered equivalent.

Proximity and Temperature Multi-Variable Transmitter with IO-Link Reference Design (TIDA-00341)

IO-Link Sensor Transmitter Reference Design (TIDA-00188)

Hall Sensor Proximity Sensor w/Fixed Threshold and Temperature Sensing Over IO-Link Reference Design (TIDA-00340)
