When IP terminal is not used (not used),
Is there any problem with the RE terminal open?

Hi Cefain,
Yes, it is ok to leave the RE terminal open if it is unused or not connected to drive a LED.
What is your application scenario?

However, your answer recommends OPEN.

Which way should I design?

Add one-Question
The same question will be asked, but the IP terminal will also be unused.
How do you handle terminals in this case, are they OPEN or Short (such as GND)?

Hi Cefain,
The seperate thread you posted have a different set up scenario.
In this thread:e2e.ti.com/.../549243
The assumption was that IPx is used. In this case then REx need to be connected to LED/resistor to ground or to ground.

For your question in this thread, the assumption was IPx terminal is unused/ not connected.
In this case, you can leave the REx open.
