Hi, does TI recommend adding:

1) ESD protection on FPD-LINK III lines.. if so, any recommendations for parts as to not disrupt signal integrity?
2) 100 ohm resistors between differential pairs for termination/ matching?

Hello JP,

1. ESD protection diodes can be used for FPD Link. Please ensure they have very low capacitance. A good example would be TPD1E05U06-Q1

2. For diff pairs I assume you are talking about the FPD Link serial interface? For the FPD Link channel termination is inside the IC.

1) That's exactly the part I was looking at. Nice... will use!

2) Yes I meant the FPD-LINK III differential pairs DOUT+ and DOUT- on the serializer and DIN+ and DIN- on the DeS. No external 100 ohm resistor required?

Hey JP,

No termination required for that link since it is internal to the ICs. They are required to be AC coupled to eachother though as per the datasheet.
