TUSB217-Q1: Difference between RX sensitivity of TUSB217 and AC boost of TUSB213

Hello team,

I have a question about TUSB217-Q1 RX sensitivity function. I do not know the difference from AC boost of the similar function in TUSB213.

What is the difference between RX sensitivity of TUSB217 and AC boost of TUSB213?

The TUSB217 added a RX sensitivity function to improve performance for Low, mid and high loss systems. This pin configures the Pre-EQ sensitvity based on the loss of the system. This pin function is detailed further in section 8.2.2 of the TUSB217 datasheet (https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tusb217-q1.pdf.

The BOOST pin of the TUSB217 now incorporates the combined functions of both AC Boost and DC Boost pins of the TUSB213.

Undrea-san,

Thank you so much for oyur response. I would like to clarify all boost function in TUSB21x.

I am considering as the following. Are they correct?

1) DC boost : Improve signal level of high speed signal. Make the signal level larger.
2) AC boost : Improve edge portion of high speed signal. Make the edge portion faster.
3) RX sensitivity : Improve ISI jitter caused by cable loss. It means to improve frequency response of high speed signal.

Would you please advise?
