LMH1981: Vin signal trace impedance

Part Number: LMH1981

Should we use 75 ohm single-ended impedance trace for signal routing to Vin?

If it is yes, where should we use 75 ohm impedance trace?

Is it from BNC to external 75 ohm termination resistor point? or from BNC to Vin pin?

Best Regards,
Kohei Sasaki

  • Hi Kohei,

A trace impedance of 75 ohms should provide best best signal integrity. Ideally, route the trace as 75 ohms to the termination, which should be placed directly next to LMH1981. The trace length should would be nearly the same in both scenarios. To be safe, you could maintain 75ohm trace to the device pin and I do not anticipate any issues.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
