Dear sir/madam,

In the datasheet of MAX3222 in section 8.2 Functional Block Diagram DIN is inverted to DOUT and RIN is inverted to ROUT.

Please explain why this inverting is done here? According to my understanding MAX3222, level shifts the signal in processor side 3.3V toRS232 connector 5V.
