MAX3238: Csompare to SP3232

Part Number: MAX3238
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3232, MAX3232E

Dear Team,

Currently, the customer is using SP3232 for 4 output application.

I find MAX3238, but this one is very old solution.

Do you have more up to date solution?

It will be highly appreciated if you can also provide the comparison table between the device you suggest compare to SP3232.

  • Dear Team,

It seems SP3232 is 2 port and P2P with MAX3232.

    Do you have comparison table?

  • Kevin,

A feature of SP3232E family is that the devices works with 2.7V supply, although the output voltage cannot reach 5V (RS-232 standard). Quote from the datasheet: “Driver outputs will meet EIA/TIA-562 levels of ±3.7V with supply voltages as low as 2.7V”. Other than this, two devices have very similar electrical characteristics.
