TPS65987D: Boot Mode Pin Strapping

Hi,

What must be the pin strap settings (value of R1, R2 and state of SPI_MISO pin) to boot the TP65987 device from the SPI flash?

Hi Shyam,

The SPI_Miso line should be connected to the SPI Flash and have a pull-up resistor to the LDO_3V3 rail like in the TPS65987EVM. You can then select the resistor divider you want on the ADCIN1&2 pins based on the behavior you want to support in dead battery mode and the I2C address you would like the TPS65987D to have. The available options are explained in the datasheet.

Thanks Eric, if i am not using the I2C lines can i leave them OPEN or should i configure them to the default address?

Hi Shyam,

If the I2C lines are unused, it is still required to use a 10k pull-up resistor to LDO_3V3. Additionally, it is good to have the I2C lines going to test-points as they may be helpful during system bring-up and debug. I would recommend configuring them to the default address.

Yeah, i agree with you it is good to have pull up on these lines. I have one more question.

I am designing a USB PD 3.0 power source board (Just source (using internal FET) and No sink), in this case what must be the device configuration (voltage on ADCIN1) ?
