DS90UB948-Q1: About 948+941AS configuration

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1

Hi team,

I have some questions about 948+941AS configuration.

  1. Do I have to reset 948 by software after power up?
  2. After digital reset, how much delay is required before next I2C write/read operation?
  3. For application using 941+948 or 947+948, is there any requirement about power-up sequence of SER and DES? Should I power up and initialize SER first and then power up the DES?

Thanks for your help.

BR,

Arie

  • Hello Arie,

    1. It is not strictly required but depending on system use case this may provide a more deterministic startup sequence.

    2. After resetting the DES via the bidirectional control channel, it is recommended to check for lock at the SER via registers before trying to access the DES again

    3. It is recommended to power up the SER before the DES if possible in order to provide the most deterministic startup sequence related to the AEQ algorithm. If SER can not be powered up first, then an initial reset of the DES through the control channel will have the same effect.

    Best Regards,
