Please refer to section 9.5.1 (I2C Interface Overview) of the DP130 datasheet. DP130 registers are access through the I2C interface and the I 2C interface is enabled when EN and RSTN are input high.

Hi David,

thanks for the prompt reply. Regarding the evaluation board, we are unable to understand the presence of the TUSB8040.
As per the schematic, it has two interfaces connected: USB to the host (which it does not recognize) and I2C to the DP130.

Can I somehow use this device to access the DP130 registers or are external tools necessary to communicate via I2C (via connector J3)?

If you have an external I2C controller, you can then use the I2C controller and connect directly to the connector J3. 

The TUSB8040 on the board acts as a bridge between the USB and the I2C, but it is easier to bypass TUSB8040 and just use an external I2C controller to control the DP130 registers.

Hi David,

Presumably we will act with an external controller but we would like to know if, in addition to the documentation already available to us (SLLU143A and SLLA349), is there also any software with the demo board that facilitates the test and trials?

Also, what is the FW or what are the per-loaded default configurations?

What is customer's end application? Is this a source or a sink design?

DP130 should work with its default setting, but the registers may need to be updated depending on the customer's specific design need.
