Hi sir,

Please let me know if the SN55182 and SN55182-SP use the same die.

Are their any manufacturing differences between the parts?

Hi Mark,

I don't believe the non-SP version is available. From what I can tell it looks like it was converted to obsolete in 2001.

Unfortunately since SN55182 hasn't been manufactured for 20 years I'm not sure this level of information is available. It is possible that these two devices shared the same silicon (if it was determined to be an inherently radiation-immune process, for instance) and differed in packaging and production test requirements, or it is possible that the commercial version's design was modified in some ways to enhance the radiation immunity in order to produce the -SP version.
