AM26C31: Output to photocoupler

Hi,

My customer is considering that AM26C31 output signal inputs to photocoupler directly.

Has anyone ever heard such usage?

    Hello Tadahiko-san,

    It is an interesting idea.  I have heard it considered but I cannot recall any cases where it was implemented in production.  (It is more common to interface photocouplers directly to the TTL inputs of this device without any single-ended-to-differential conversion.)  But, as long as the input requirements of the photocoupler are compatible with the AM26C31 outputs then this should work.  I can help review the compatibility if you could advise on the photocoupler part number.
