DS15BA101: What is the relevance of inputs being self-biased to 2.1 V?

Part Number: DS15BA101

Hello,

In the INPUT INTERFACING section of the datasheet (page 4), there is this sentence: "The IN+ and IN- pins are self-biased at approximately 2.1V with VCC = 3.3V."

How is this relevant for design, if it indeed is?  In the specifications there is the Input Common Mode Voltage provided, which is 0.8 V to Vcc-Vid/2.  My belief is that this is what matters, and the 2.1 V bias described above is something we can ignore as long as our signal has its common mode voltage within the 0.8 V to Vcc-Vid/2 range.

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Scott
