Hi Team,

Kindly help me in following queries

i want to do the Design of the DS90UB960 in our Board and i want to supply the Power from our internal Regulators and not from external power adaptor

i see that the Power is applied to the RIN [0:4] signals.

1. Could you let me know the power requirement with current on these signals.

2. Also i can see that there are 9V/12V/5V options. Can you let me know the purpose of these options?

3. Is 9V/12V option is required in the design for RIN [0:4] signals?

Hi Narendar,

Power is applied to RIN[0:4] to power the serializer board, not to power the device. The AC coupling caps are there to prevent power from going into the RX pins. The user can supply 9/12/5V depending on the DC-DC converter on the serializer board, though we typically recommend >9V for better noise performance.

I can see 9V/12V/5V options for camera, kindly let me know what is the purpose of the 3 different voltages ?

Hi Reddy,

generally you can have below options:

1. on-board power supply design: some customers like to use 12V but some customers like to get buck output 9V for high stability, so 9V is more preferred in the system design. but anyway, this is dependent on the board design request and total power system stability design concern

2. for 9V/12V and 5V, as you know if you select 5V it means higher current flows through this coax cable, it would introduce higher noise in the power system. so 9V is preferred from system-level noise reduction.

Hi, the power consumption is dependent on your total module power, for the serializer, it is about 300mW.
