TUSB422: PD Controller with SBU mux

Hi Team,

A customer noticed that the diagram in Figure 2 in the link below requires a PD Controller with SBU mux. Does TUSB422 fits for this application? If not, do we have any device we can use as PD Controller with SBU mux?

Hi Danilo,

Correct a PD controller with integrated SBU mux can be used here. You can also consider using a external mux to control SBU routing. This mux must have 5V tolerant pins. TUSB422 does not integrate a SBU mux.

I will loop your question to the PD controller team t see if they have any recommendations.

Hi Danilo,

We do have a PD controller with an integrated MUX, the TPS65982, but this device is not recommended for new designs. If you are looking for a single port PD controller, I recommend the TPS65987D or the TPS25750 with an external MUX.
