TUSB1042I: USB-C to USB-C Polarity Issue

Part Number: TUSB1042I

I am trying to create a USB-C to USB-C Power Monitoring System.    I am not touching the superspeed lines, CC and USB 2.0 lines other than passing the signal to allow this board act as a wire.  My purpose is monitor the V-BUS voltage & current.   My initial design works fine, but I have polarity issues on the connectors.     I connect one way works great, rotate the USB C and I get nothing.     I have tried several different designs of mapping the signal (SSRX#/SSTx#)  from one end to other.   Tried typing SSRX1 & SSRX2 together to route to the other end and etc.

I am now thinking that maybe a re-driver is my answer such as TUSB1042I.   Do you think a design like this will resolved my issue of polarity of the USB-C connector?
