DS25CP152Q-Q1: Use as 1:2 fanout buffer

Part Number: DS25CP152Q-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS25CP152

Customer is looking to use DS25CP152 to take one LVDS signal and send it to two LVDS loads.

Is it preferred to:

  1. Feed the LVDS signal to both device inputs in parallel and have each input connect to its respective output
  2. Or to connect the LVDS signal to one input and use the SEL pins to have the DS25CP152 send the same signal to both device outputs.

I think option 2 is better since the input LVDS signal will be properly terminated by a single 100 ohm input resistance. The parallel approach would make the effective termination 50 ohms.

If using option2, what should we do with the unused LVDS inpu?  leave the pins floating or tie them off to ground or Vcc?
