We offer an evaluation module for 8-pin CAN devices that allow for evaluation and testing of the devices. The TCAN1042 EVM would be capable of breaking out the pins of SN65HVD234-Q1 to perform such testing. The TXD and RXD pins can be connected to the corresponding CAN controller pins of an external MCU. The RS and EN pins can be connected to GPIO (if used) to control the other functions of the device. Be sure to apply 3.3V to Vcc on the EVM. 

Reference designs are more complex example systems that feature several TI components to accomplish a larger range of tasks. Each of these has a specific function in mind and will use various ICs to implement, often showing off particular features of some devices. You can find all CAN-related reference designs here. I'm not aware a reference design that we offer that uses a 3.3V transceiver specifically, but if one of these suits your needs, the design can be modified to work with SN65HVD234.
