SN65DSI83-Q1: Is this part - or the 84 or the 85 - compatible with the DSI interface from a Raspberry Pi

Part Number: SN65DSI83-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI83

So far as I can see, this family of ICs should be compatible with the MIPI DSI interface from the Raspberry Pi.

However, rather oddly, I have found no posts anywhere on the web on the viability of this.

(The official R-Pi DSI interface uses a Toshiba part, but that is a BGA package which may be impractical for the relatively small runs we will be doing)
