TPS65982: Using the TPS65982 without Type-C Alternate Mode: USB2.0 forwarding with no billboarding

Part Number: TPS65982

Hello,

We plan on using the TPS65982 for PD negociation only. We do not plan on using the Type-C Alternate Mode feature. We therefore want the TPS65982 to forward the USB2.0 data line to an embedded USB controller. We tried to disable the billboarding feature and to enable the RP paths while disabling the EP paths, but this didn't work out in our tests.

Could you give us more information about what you call RP and EP paths in the System Configuration Register? We thought of it as being the configuration of the 2nd-stage multiplexer of the TPS65982 device, is that right? If yes, what does it mean to have both the EP and RP paths enabled? Anyone knows how to configure the chip to achieve what I just described?

Thank you!
