DP83TC811S-Q1: 100-Base-T1 using STP and transformers, cable length

I have an industrial application where the maximum cable length is 40m.

The cable has Cat 5 twisted pairs enclosed within a shield in order to give immunity from the noisy power conductors that are in the same cable.

There will be differences in the ground potential between nodes.

Therefore I want to use a shielded twisted pair and transformer isolation.

Is the DP83TC811S-Q1 suitable for my application?

    Hi Robert,

    We have tested well above 60m with unshielded twisted pair cable using cap isolation.
    Right now we do not have data on 811 with transformer isolation. I suspect similar if not better performance than cap isolation.
    If you only need to reach 40m, this device can meet your needs.
