DS90UB921-Q1: Multiple Input formats and Sync Polarity

Hi,

I want to use the DS90UB921-Q1 serializer and the DS90UB940-Q1 deserializer to take either 16-bit YCbCr parallel CMOS data or 24-bit RGB888 parallel CMOS data send it over FPD-Link III and convert it to a 2-lane MIPI CSI-2 output without changing the physical interface (by just only adjusting the camera settings).

1) Is this possible to do?

The HS and VS signals are active on low and the Data valid signal is active on high.

2) Does the polarity of these signals have any effect on whether or not it can be connected to the input video control pins of the ser?

1) Our serializer and deserializer do not care what the data is with the exception that the 24 bit RGB888 sync signal is dedicated to HS/VS/DE are on pins

Sorry, somehow my reply was sent without me touching the reply radio button.
Anyway...

1) Our serializer and deserializer do not care what the data is with the exception that the 24 bit RGB888 sync signal is dedicated to HS/VS/DE are on pins 3/4/5 respectively.
2) The polarity of these signals do not have any effect, it is the end device (usually the TCON) that cares.

Thanks for the reply, Darryl.

So, extreme case scenario, if my HS signal was on my VS pin and my VS signal was on my DE pin and the control signals were mixed around like that, the serializer and deserializer would not care and the system would work as long as you take care of the arrangement on the other end?

Sorry, I was only focus on the 921 portion of your application.
The input video format detection is derived from progressive display resolutions based on the CEA−861D specification which has specific mapping to operate with the 940 CSI output.
