DP83867E: Clear Configuration Register

Hi Team,

My customer has a question in regards to the note in the DP83867E datasheet to clear bit 7 of CFG_REG4 if the RX_CTRL pin cannot be strapped. 

Is there any timing they need to worry about here after setting this register? After they clear bit 7, do they need to renegotiate the link or do a SW reset, etc?

    Hi Mitchell,

    There is no specific timing requirement. However, it is recommended that clearing bit[7] of Configuration Register 4 should be followed by a SW reset. Ideally, it should be done after power-up or hardware reset when registers are accessible.
