If yes, can it be cleaned?

    Thanks for the follow up.

    There is no flux in the solder balls themselves. Flux is used in the ball attach process, followed by a flux clean step.

    The balls can be cleaned before assembly, but they shouldn't require this if they've been handled correctly.

    The packages can be cleaned after assembly on the PCB. The need depends on the flux selected.
