Hi, TI member,

I plan to use TI thunderbolt solution for intel Tiger Lake platform.
Single channel thunderbolt:
(1)Thunderbolt/DP(HDMI)/USB-C Retimer (burnside bridge retimer):TI/TUSB1046AI-DCIRNQR, Should support USB3, HDMI, DP.
(2)1 OVP protect:TPD6S300ARUKR
(3)USB-C PD: TI/TPS65993ADYBGT (Thunderbolt/USB type C that support USB-PD charging 12~27W)

Does TI recommend TI/TUSB1046AI-DCIRNQR?

Hi,

Do you have a block diagram you can share? If you already have the Burnside Bridge, why do you need a redriver?

Hi,

TUSB544 (USB 5G/DP8.1G) or TUSB1044 (USB10G/DP8.1G) will be the solution.

The Burnside Bridge retimer will have its own TX SWING and Pre-emphasis, independent from the TGL TX SWING and Pre-emphasis, that can be tuned to pass the USB/DP compliance test.

The TUSB1044 is a linear redriver without its own TX SWING and Pre-emphasis and has to rely on tuning the TGL TX SWING and Pre-emphasis to pass the USB/DP compliance test. Please make sure TGL can support this tuning process.
