DS90UB936-Q1: Compatibility with DS90UB953

Hi,

I would like to Know why the DS90UB953 Serializer is not compatible with DS90UB936? But DS90UB935 is compatible eventhough 935 and 953 has similar specification.

Whether there is any difference in serialization technique between 935 and 953?

If I am using only two lanes in 953 whether I can use 936 as my deserializer?

I would like to know why datasheet of 936 specifies that 953 is not compatible with 936 as shown in the screenshot?

Hi Alphonsa,

We specified it's not compatible becausea 936 is technically designed for pairing with the 935.And 954 is designed to pair with a 953. The 95x devices are simply a speed upgrade of the 93x devices. When a customer does their system, we only prefer them to pick the intended pair based on their CSI bandwidth, instead of using a 953/954 with a 936/935. But if you already have a 953 system, you can pair it with a 936.
