Problems about the 1394 data transmission

What are the IP addresses of both devices?

Yes, APIA is used. And the IP addresses of each device are 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2, which are set manually. And the ping dose not work apparently, cause no data tranmission occured between two 1394 devices.

And what is the error message shown by ping?

     I'm the partner of No No. The ping shows timeout and we don't know how to show the error message.

So the error shown by ping is a timeout.

(And 192.168.x.x are not APIPA addresses.)

If you tried to ping an IP that cannot be seen, the error would be "host not reachable". (Try pinging 192.168.0.3.)
So your problem is apparently not with IEEE-1394 communication but at some higher level (maybe firewall configuration).

What is the output of "route print"?
