TCA5405: Current consumption of active mode

Part Number: TCA5405

Dear All,

There are no typical current consumption value and Vcc condition on the datasheet like bellow image.

We want to know the detailed typical current consumption value and Vcc condition of active mode.

We think that Vcc condition is 1.65V to 3.6V. Is it right?

Please let us know that.

(Datasheet - page 3)

Regards,

Jeffrey

  • Hey Jeffrey,

This device is actually fairly old. I had to dig around but I did find some data on Icc (active). The 400uA max looks like it includes 3.6V though I suspect the supply current was not mentioned as a typical because it was purely dependent on Vcc and temperature.

    For example:

Vcc at 1.6V at 25C was in the 110~115 uA area

Vcc at 2.5V at 25C was in the 230~240 uA range

Is there a set condition you are looking for? Maybe i can provide you with an estimate if you give me the Vcc and temp range.

    Thanks,

    -Bobby

  • Hi Bobby,

Please refer to the bellow conditions. (Ta=25C)

  • Hey Jefferey,

    Standby:

2.3V to 3.6V = ~1040nA seems to be the average while the maximum of the datasheet can be used for this (2uA) though the largest value I see in my data is ~1300nA (this is at 85C). Values were largest at 3.6V so I am giving you the numbers from there.

1.65V to 2.3V=~625nA seems to be the average while the largest value I see in my data is ~790nA (this is at 85C). Values were largest at 2.3V so I am giving you the numbers from there.

    Active:

2.3V to 3.6V = ~380uA seems to be the average while the largest value I see in my data is ~384uA (this is at 85C). Values were largest at 3.6V so I am giving you the numbers from there.

1.65V to 2.3V=~211uA seems to be the average while the largest value I see in my data is ~214uA (this is at 25C). Values were largest at 2.3V so I am giving you the numbers from there.

Please keep in mind the numbers I am giving you are from a collection of data points and not a warranty of guarantee like the datasheet provides. You may use these numbers as a reference.

    Thanks,

    -Bobby

  • Hi Bobby,

    Thanks for your data.
As you told me above, I'll use these average current values as a reference.

    Regards,
    Jeffrey
